How do you know they have the highest rate of depression than the rest of society? Is that a proven fact?

Heaven - I think you've hit the nail on the head.
'You will never be happy adopting someone else's definition of your life.'
My mother has never been what I would call a happy person and maybe that is her nature. But I'm sure the pressures of JW life and the high expectations they have doesn't help. Maybe if she had lived a more carefree life without all the restrictions, she could have found ways of coping with her unhappiness.
Its the high expectations they have of each other as well. When they see others in the congregation not showing Godly qualities, they get stumbled or feel let down. They care too much about how other people lead their lives. About others personality failings.
I would say that the majority of worldlies couldn't care less how others live their lives. If I don't like a person, I walk away and don't keep them in my life. Its no big deal. But the witnesses are stuck associating with people they wouldn't normally associate with.
And to think they will be stuck with each other forever in a paradise earth. At least they will have a thousand years to reach perfection. Maybe at the end of that thousand years they will like each other. If they've not killed each other in the mean time.

Saw my mum a couple of hours ago and she was saying how low she was feeling. Basically miserable and doesn't like anyone. She wouldn't tell me anything other than that but I kind of know whats eating at her. I was so dying to say to her
''But mum, you're the happiest people on earth. What do you have to be so miserable about''
I didn't of course because I wouldn't be so cheeky to my mother.
So I was wondering, where does it say that JW's are the happiest people on earth? I mean I remember hearing it but is it written down in WT literature? In which case, are they not going against the slave if they are not the happiest people on earth?
I know I'm being pedantic. It just makes me laugh because they are no better than anyone else. They experience the same problems life has to throw as the rest of us but they think they're so much better.

BORN-INS! What Were The Most Annoying Quotes Your Parents Would Say?
by OneStepOut93 inregarding worldly people, shows or toys?
etc...what quotes annoyed you the most?.
for me it was "well, you have to remember, they're worldly"... "don't trust anyone who isn't in the truth" "they may be nice but they are not friends of jehovah"... just a few to name.

My Story Part 2 - by 88JM
by 88JM inpart 1 here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/243954/1/my-story-part-1-by-88jm.
part 2. so my parents married in 1980 and my older brother was born 2 years later in 1982. by this time, my grandparents had moved into the house next door to my parents.
my dad was still working for yorkshire water and was in a very well paid position by the time i was born in 1988. between these years, my mum had also had a miscarriage, though this is rarely mentioned in our house these days, but i'm sure it must still affect her.. there aren't many notable events that i can recall from before i was 4 years old, though i was later to learn that my dad was having an affair at this time.

This is from the school prospectus. From what I can tell, I don't stand much of a chance other than to keep my child out of lessons and assemplies when they teach this stuff which I will not do.
Religious Education is provided in school as part of the basic curriculum under the
guidelines of the 1988 Education Reform Act and in accordance with the statutory
requirements. The approach is multi cultural with a strong emphasis on Christianity.
The programmes of study, attainment targets and assessment are approved locally by
SACRE (Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education)
Collective worship in school is conducted through allocated assemblies, class
reflections and a weekly ‘Praise’ Assembly.
Visiting ‘speakers’, including Christian ministers and representatives from various
charities often take assemblies.
Any parent who wishes to exercise their right under the 1988 Education Reform Act
to withdraw their child from assemblies or RE lessons are asked to contact the
Headteacher in writing.
